Everyday, thousands of low / medium resourced laboratories across India provide services to their local clientele to the best of their ability.
These facilities have, over the last two decades, upgraded to semi / batch analysers for biochemistry, haematology & immuno-assays.
However, in microbiology, expensive imported medical devices, their test cartridges, requirement of high investment setups, need for upskilling of technicians and overall shortage of experts have made the process continue on manual methodologies which are inturn, are plagued by operator dependencies, varied interpretation charts and reporting standadrds.
Further, the system has no way to learn from insights of antibiograms from manual tests recorded in laboratory log books, impacting critical decision making points along the patients' journey.
What if there could be a way where there was no need for any medical device, or upskilling. Yet "that way" carried the guidelines and compliances used in reference laboratories to these sites rather than ignoring the real-life problem as we have done so far?
