About Us

 Ashes and Satrajit began their journey as classmates at St. Paul’s Boarding & Day School, Kolkata, in 1983. 

Ashes later built expertise through IIT, IISc, and 23 years in medical device R&D, while Satrajit trained at JNU and IISWBM and gained 25 years of experience in IVD across multiple disciplines of laboratory testing. 

These combined insights led to the founding of BacTrek Innovations Private Limited to make testing more affordable, accessible, standardised, and scalable.

Beyond bacDR, the team continues R&D on BacID for bacterial colony identification and enumeration, as well as solutions to expand breast cancer screening in India.
